Tenerife Holiday Diving Day 4

I had a very relaxing first half to the day here, as I sat out the first dive as my ears had been giving me gyp overnight, so I decided to give them a risk on the deeper dive, and then see how I felt for the afternoon’s shallower dive.  The first dive of the day was at San Juan, a site I haven’t dived before, and still haven’t, so I spent the hour walking along the sea front, and the harbour wall, enjoying the sunshine and drinking in the scenery of the hills behind me while I waited for the others to come back.  Apparrently its quite a nice dive, but still no sign of any rays, and this is one of the sites where you sometimes see them.

So after some ice creams in the sun, we headed back to Mar Azul, for another dive from the Tuna Factory site.  There are so many different dives you can do from the one entry point.  This is my fourth dive here, and I’m am yet to repeat any of them.  We stepped in from the jetty, and went around the wall, and out into the shallows where there are some caves.  Myself and Gareth were at the back of the group, and we stopped to watch Kirstie and Paul taking some photos and looking around some rocks.  When we looked up, we had lost the rest of the group, so we pretty much stuck together as a four in our two pairs for the remainder of the dive.  It is sort of planned that we can do this if the group splits, so no one is unduly concerned.  We head to the caves taking a different sort of route from the normal one, but end up at the far cave, which has the air space/water spout type feature at the back of it.  We make our way back along the caves and rock walls, and in the final cave, we catch up with the rest of the gang.  We saw all the normal wildlife, and some very nice plantlife at the backs of the caves.  We end the dive with another mooch in the shallow area around the jetty before surfacing.  After this, it was back to the Orlando, and then back to Abades for a meal dn beers in the bar.   A nice simple day this one, and as with most of the days out there, thoroughly relaxing.

Dive 5 (101)  Max Depth 12.4m, dive time 48 mins
